Financial gifts
If you would like to contribute by making a donation, that helps, too! There are obviously costs involved in constructing houses. St. Matthew has pledged to pay a portion of the costs for each house we help build. You can donate to St. Matthew (specifying "Habitat") or
directly to the local Habitat office. When
giving to Habitat online, click on the "Support Us" button at the top right of their webpage. Follow the directions, selecting the designation "I am giving on behalf of my church" and entering "St. Matthew United Methodist Church" under "Name of Church" so your donation counts toward our church's goal. Donations made directly to Habitat qualify for the Arizona QCO income tax credit.
2025 Advent Calendar
Each December, we provide small cardboard banks and a printed calendar to help us remember how fortunate we are and let us share our fortune with others. Banks and calendars will be available on the Ushers' Counter throughout Advent, and may be dropped off Sunday mornings.
We’re counting blessings in our homes and dedicating spare change as we are able to St. Matthew’s Habitat build!
Mon 12/1 If your home is completely paid for, donate $1; if not, donate 50¢.
Tues 12/2 Donate $1 for each person that lives in your home.
Wed 12/3 For each mirror in your home, donate 25¢.
Thurs 12/4 For each bedroom, donate $1. For a half bath, donate 50¢.
Fri 12/5 Donate 50¢ if you have air conditioning.
Sat 12/6 For each closet in your home, donate 50¢.
Sun 12/7 For each Christmas Wreath at your home, donate $1.
Mon 12/8 For each light switch in your home, donate 25¢.
Tues 12/9 If you have a vehicle, donate $1.
Wed 12/10 For each refrigerator at your home, donate $1.
Thurs 12/11 Do you have a freezer? If so, donate 75¢.
Fri 12/12 For each overhead fan in your home, donate 75¢.
Sat 12/13 For each window in your home, donate 25¢.
Sun 12/14 For each TV in your home, donate 75¢. Donate $1 for each streaming service.
Mon 12/15 For each electrical outlet in your home, donate 25¢.
Tues 12/16 If you have Christmas lights up, donate $1; if not, donate $2.
Wed 12/17 Thank God for the roof over your head. If no leaks, donate $1; if it leaks, 50¢.
Thurs 12/18 Donate $1 if you recycle, but $2 if you don’t.
Fri 12/19 If your home has a garage, donate 50¢.
Sat 12/20 If you like Christmas music, donate $1; if not, $2.
Sun 12/21 If you have a pantry, donate 75¢.
Mon 12/22 If you have a living room, donate $1.
Tues 12/23 If you own a dishwasher, donate 75¢.
Wed 12/24 For each Christmas Tree in your home, donate $1.
Thurs 12/25 Worship the Birth of Jesus Christ! Thank you for sharing your blessings with others!
